Diocese of Mar del Plata in Buenos Aires Province, erected in 1957 and suffragan to the Archdiocese of La Plata. Bishop Ernesto Giobando, S.J., was appointed in December 2024. The cathedral is the Basilica of Saints Peter and Cecilia.
