Metropolitan archdiocese in northwestern Argentina, erected as a diocese on 15 February 1897 and elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 11 February 1957. Its suffragan sees include Anatuya, Concepcion, and Santiago del Estero. Led by Archbishop Carlos Alberto Sanchez since 2017.
