History
Chaldean Catholics in Australia are served by the Eparchy of Saint Thomas the Apostle in Sydney, a diocese immediately subject to the Holy See. Created in 2006 with Archbishop Jibrail Kassab as its first bishop, it passed in 2015 to Archbishop Amel Shamon Nona. The see has stood vacant since April 12, 2026.
