Latin-rite diocese in Sergipe state, northeastern Brazil. Erected 30 April 1960 from the Diocese (now Archdiocese) of Aracaju, of which it is a suffragan. Its cathedral is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Estancia.

History

The city of Estância is home to this Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church, known in Latin as Dioecesis Stantianus. It is suffragan to the metropolitan Archdiocese of Aracajú in Brazil.
