History
Belonging to the ecclesiastical province of Fortaleza in Brazil, this see (Latin: Dioecesis Itapipocana) was erected on March 13, 1971, as the Diocese of Itapipoca, carved from the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Fortaleza.
