Latin rite diocese covering the northern islands of Cape Verde (Sao Vicente, Santo Antao, Santa Luzia, Sao Nicolau, Sal and Boa Vista). Erected on 19 December 2003 from the Diocese of Santiago de Cabo Verde and immediately subject to the Holy See. Its seat is the Pro-Cathedral of Our Lady of the Light in Mindelo.

History
Cabo Verde's Diocese of Mindelo (Latin: Dioecesis Mindelensis) is a Latin Church territory whose cathedral, the Catedral Nossa Senhora da Luz, stands in the see city of Mindelo. Belonging to no ecclesiastical province, the diocese is immediately exempt to the Holy See. Its social arm is Cáritas Diocesana do Mindelo.
