The Archdiocese of Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania was erected as the Apostolic Prefecture of Southern Zanguebar in 1897 and raised to a metropolitan archdiocese on March 25, 1953. Archbishop Jude Thaddaeus Ruwa'ichi has led it since August 15, 2019.

History
Tanzania's Archdiocese of Dar-es-Salaam (Latin: Archidioecesis Daressalaamensis) is a Latin Metropolitan archdiocese whose mother church and archiepiscopal seat is St. Joseph's Cathedral. Archbishop Jude Thaddaeus Ruwa'ichi has led the archdiocese since 15 August 2019.
