Military ordinariate (Obispado Castrense) providing pastoral care to Catholics in the Dominican Armed Forces and their families, with 47 parishes. Established as a military vicariate on 23 January 1958 and elevated to a military ordinariate on 21 July 1986; it is immediately subject to the Holy See. Its principal church is the Catedral Castrense Santa Barbara de los hombres de la mar in Santo Domingo, and Archbishop Francisco Ozoria Acosta of Santo Domingo has served as military ordinary since 2 January 2017.
