Its seat is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Sorrows (the fortress-cathedral of Almeria). Bishop Antonio Gomez Cantero has led the diocese since his appointment on 30 November 2021.

History
The Spanish city of Almería is the seat of a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church (Latin: Dioecesis Almeriensis), part of the ecclesiastical province of Granada.
