Latin Church metropolitan archdiocese in the Marche region of Italy, established as a diocese in the 3rd century and elevated to an archdiocese by Pope Sixtus V in 1589. It is the metropolitan see for the suffragan dioceses of Ascoli Piceno, Camerino-San Severino Marche, Macerata-Tolentino-Recanati-Cingoli-Treia, and San Benedetto del Tronto-Ripatransone-Montalto.

History
Established as the Diocese of Fermo in the 3rd century, this Latin archdiocese of the Catholic Church in northern Italy (Latin: Archidioecesis Firmana) has its seat in the city of Fermo, Marche. Pope Sixtus V raised it to an archdiocese on 24 May 1589. The archiepiscopal seat is Fermo Cathedral, and the current archbishop is Rocco Pennacchio.
