The Diocese of Zacapa y Santo Cristo de Esquipulas is a Latin rite see in eastern Guatemala whose bishop is also prelate of Santo Cristo de Esquipulas, home of the famous Black Christ shrine. Bishop Angel Antonio Recinos Lemus, a former systems engineer, has led the diocese since 22 February 2016.

History
A Latin suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Guatemala, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Zacapa (y Santo Cristo de Esquipulas) has its cathedral episcopal see at the catedral San Pedro in Zacapa, dedicated to saint Peter. A virtual co-cathedral also belonged to it, the Basílica del Cristo Negro de Esquipulas, which officially remains the cathedral of the Territorial Prelature of Santo Cristo de Esquipulas.
