History
Comprising the Palakkad district of Kerala, India, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sultanpet (Latin: Dioecesis Sultanpetensis) was erected from the division of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Coimbatore and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calicut, and serves as a suffragan of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Verapoly. Its first bishop was Rev. Peter Abir Antonisamy, a clergy of the Archdiocese of Pondicherry and Cuddalore.
