Its seat is the Cathedral of Divine Providence in Atlacomulco; after 18 months of sede vacante, Bishop Adolfo Miguel Castano Fonseca was appointed by Pope Leo XIV on 11 February 2026 and installed in April 2026.

History
Established on 3 November 1984, the Diocese of Atlacomulco (Latin: Dioecesis Atlacomulcana) serves as a suffragan see of Mexico's Archdiocese of Toluca.
