The Diocese of San Jose de Nueva Ecija covers part of Nueva Ecija province and was erected in 1984. Bishop Samuel Agcaracar, S.V.D., was appointed in November 2025 and installed in February 2026, succeeding Roberto Mallari. It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.

History

Pope John Paul II established the Diocese of San Jose, Nueva Ecija (Latin: Dioecesis Sancti Iosephi in Insulis Philippinis) in 1984, and its canonical erection followed on July 14 of that year. A Latin Church territory in the province of Nueva Ecija, it was formed from lands previously belonging to the Diocese of Cabanatuan, beginning with sixteen of Cabanatuan's original forty-one parishes.
