History

Dating from the third century, the Diocese of Pistoia (Latin: Dioecesis Pistoriensis) is a Latin Catholic see located in the Province of Florence and suffragan to the archdiocese of Florence. Between 1653 and 1954 it existed as the diocese of Pistoia and Prato; the Diocese of Prato has stood separate since 1954.

The bishops thanked Emanuele Morelli, the director of Caritas in Pisa, for his years of service.
