Latin rite diocese in Portuguesa state, Venezuela, with its see at Guanare, home of the national Marian shrine of Our Lady of Coromoto. Erected 7 June 1954 by Pope Pius XII from territories of Barquisimeto and Calabozo; it is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Barquisimeto. Its cathedral is the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Coromoto.

Within the ecclesiastical province of Barquisimeto in Venezuela, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Guanare (Latin: Dioecesis Guanarensis) has its seat in the city of Guanare.
