Latin Church
The Latin rite Archdiocese of Samoa-Apia covers the Independent State of Samoa. Erected as the Apostolic Vicariate of the Navigators' Archipelago on 20 August 1850, it was elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese on 10 September 1982, with the Diocese of Samoa-Pago Pago and the Mission Sui Iuris of Tokelau as suffragans. Its cathedral is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Apia.

History
The whole of the Independent State of Samoa forms the territory of the Archdiocese of Samoa-Apia (Latin: Archidioecesis Samoa-Apiana; Samoan: Puleaga Fa'aAkiepikopo Samoa-Apia), a Latin Catholic ecclesiastical jurisdiction.
