The Diocese of Kyoto is a Latin rite see in central Japan covering Kyoto, Shiga, Nara and Mie prefectures, established as a prefecture in 1937 and raised to a diocese in 1951. Suffragan to the Archdiocese of Osaka-Takamatsu, it has been led since 1997 by Bishop Paul Yoshinao Otsuka.
