The pope invited all faithful and Christian communities to pray the Rosary during the month of October to seek an end to wars and establish peace between conflicting peoples.

During the Angelus on September 27, 2026, at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, he made the appeal while standing on the meadow in front of the shrine. He noted that the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette at this location with a rosary to guide her prayer.

The pope asked that the Rosary prayers be accompanied by concrete acts of penance and mercy, alongside a commitment to fostering dialogue and reconciliation. He extended his greetings to those attending the Eucharistic celebration and to those watching through the media, particularly the sick.
