World Mission Sunday to take place on Oct. 18

World Mission Sunday will take place on Oct. 18 with the theme “One in Christ, united in mission.” The 2026 celebration marks 100 years since Pope Pius XI established the day in 1926.

Donations collected through the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith fund work in more than 1,000 young dioceses across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Pacific Islands. These resources support the training of catechists and seminarians, as well as construction projects. In the United States, approximately 70 dioceses are classified as mission dioceses.
