ДЕНЬ АРХИЄРЕЙСЬКИХ СВЯЧЕНЬ ПРЕОСВЯЩЕННОГО ВЛАДИКИ ДМИТРА ГРИГОРАКА, ЧСВВ, – ЄПИСКОП БУЧАЦЬКОЇ ЄПАРХІЇ УГКЦ – (15 РОКІВ ТОМУ).

The Eparchy of Wrocław-Koszalin marks the 15th anniversary of the episcopal ordination of Bishop Dmytro Hryhorak, OSBM, who serves as the bishop of the Buchach Eparchy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.

Bishop Hryhorak was ordained on September 18, 2011, at the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Chortkiv. Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk, the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, performed the ordination. Bishop Vasyl Semeniuk, the bishop of the Ternopil-Zboriv Eparchy, and Bishop Emeritus Sofron Mudry, OSBM, served as co-consecrators.

Born Dmytro Bohdan Hryhorak on January 1, 1956, in Ivano-Frankivsk, the bishop credits his parents, Dmytro and Anna, for his faith. He noted that his family acted as a primary church, teaching him to pray and believe in God despite the prohibitions against religious discussion during the Soviet era. His parents introduced him to Father Ivan Demushka for his first catechesis during his primary school years.
