150 Years at the Heart of Glencorrib

The community of Glencorrib in County Mayo celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Church of the Immaculate Conception last Saturday. During the event, Bishop Michael unveiled a commemorative plaque following a Mass.

The celebration included the launch of an anniversary booklet edited by Kevin Flood, a reception at Glencorrib Hall, and a parish social. Bishop Michael noted that the milestone serves as a call for the community to recommit to living out the Christian message and supporting the faith communities that church buildings shelter. He stated that the focus should remain on the faith of the local people rather than the physical structure.
