16 familias atendidas en los alojamientos de urgencia de Cáritas Diocesana

Cáritas Diocesana de Toledo assisted 16 families and 52 people through its emergency housing and community reception programs during the first half of 2026. The efforts were funded by the regional social welfare department and the organization's own funds.

The Madre Teresa emergency housing program provided shelter and personalized support to 11 families, totaling 39 people. Maryoli Moreno, the coordinator for the Inclusion Area, stated that families with children using these resources primarily come from Peru, Venezuela, and Colombia. These families face homelessness, residential exclusion, or social vulnerability.

Three professionals manage these resources to provide basic necessities alongside intensive social, emotional, and educational support. This assistance aims to help individuals achieve social and job integration and personal autonomy. Most participants enter the program through referrals from social services or parishes within the province after staff evaluate their socio-familial needs.
