The Eparchy of Wrocław-Koszalin marks the Saturday after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 19. The Church celebrates this feast to remember the finding of the Cross by Queen Helena and to honor it through prayer as a symbol of Christ's sacrifice, redemption, and victory over death.

Eastern Church historians suggest the feast is based on two historical events: the discovery of the Cross in the 4th century and its return from Persia to Jerusalem in the 7th century. The term exaltation refers to the solemn rite of honoring and glorifying the Cross.

Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky described the veneration of the Holy Cross as a vital way to honor God. He noted that making the sign of the cross is one of the oldest Christian customs and serves as a public recognition of faith in the Savior.
