19 ВЕРЕСНЯ – СВЯТИХ МУЧЕНИКІВ ТРОФИМА, САВВАТІЯ І ДОРИМЕДОНТА.

The Church honors the memory of the holy martyrs Trophimus, Savvatius, and Dorimedontus on September 19.

According to the Eparchy of Wrocław-Koszalin, these martyrs lived during the reign of Emperor Probus. The accounts state that Trophimus and Savvatius were brought before a judge named Atticus Elyodorus in Pisidian Antioch during a pagan festival for Apollo. They were accused of publicly criticizing pagan immorality. After refusing to offer sacrifices to idols, Savvatius was tortured to death.

Trophimus was later sent to Synada in Phrygia, where the governor Dionysius ordered him to be beaten and imprisoned. A Christian man named Dorimedontus, who was from a prominent family, visited Trophimus in prison to pray. Following his arrest, Dorimedontus was also sentenced to torture. Although wild animals were released upon them, the beasts did not harm the men. The martyrs were eventually executed by the sword in 280.
