2026 Faith That Works Award Recipient: Katie Wanek

Katie Wanek has been named the recipient of the 2026 Faith That Works Award. A member of All Saints Parish in Denmark, Wanek serves her community through several roles, including greeter, lector, and parish council member.

In the fall, Wanek will start her tenth year teaching eighth-grade students as a catechist at All Saints. Her nomination for the award included praise from Audrey Zuleger of All Saints Parish, who described Wanek as a vital part of the parish who lives out the Gospel by serving others.

Beyond her formal roles, Wanek participates in weekly Bible study and 5 a.m. adoration followed by faith sharing. She noted that her path to becoming a catechist began unexpectedly after hearing a suggestion to get more involved while working at a Teens Encounter Christ retreat.
