The Diocese of Rijeka released a reflection by Danijel Delonga regarding the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time (A) for 2026.

Delonga explains that the Gospel parable focuses on the Kingdom of God and the relationship between God and humanity rather than economic fairness or wages. He notes that while justice in employment requires a reasonable link between work and pay, salvation is a gift from God rather than something earned through labor.

The reflection suggests that working in God's vineyard is a grace and a gift rather than a burden to be endured for a reward. Delonga writes that the workers who started early in the day felt resentment because they viewed the master's generosity toward latecomers as unfair. He states that God's goodness does not follow human standards of merit.
