28 Congreso Católicos y Vida Pública to reivindicate Hispanidad

The 28th Católicos y Vida Pública Congress will take place from November 13 to 15 at the Universidad CEU San Pablo to reclaim the shared history between Spain and the Americas. Organized by the Asociación Católica de Propagandistas (ACdP), the event is titled America and Spain: the faith that unites us. A journey of ida y vuelta.

During the presentation of the Manifiesto por la Hispanidad, congress director María San Gil stated that Hispanidad is a reality that benefits everyone who speaks, thinks, and feels in Spanish on both sides of the Atlantic. The manifesto describes this community as a bond of shared interests and affections forged by 500 years of history through institutions such as dioceses, parishes, and universities.

Pablo Velasco, a member of the congress executive committee, noted that the event comes at a time of great challenges. The congress aims to defend the cultural and moral value of Hispanidad, citing historical influences such as Isabella I of Castile and the School of Salamanca. The manifesto notes that the School of Salamanca helped develop international law and human dignity, themes that have inspired Pope Leo XIV.
