39ª Romaria a Nossa Senhora da Santa Cruz reúne devotos em caminhada de conversão e paz

Devotees gathered at Lajeado Paca on Monday, September 14, for the 39th Pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Holy Cross. The event, held between Erechim and Aratiba, followed a three day period of prayer from September 11 to 13. This year's pilgrimage focused on the theme of conversion and peace, specifically referencing Our Lady of the Holy Cross and Dorothea Farina.

The day began with a mass at the cross led by Father Gladir Giacomel, the sanctuary rector, followed by a procession led by laypeople. Father Paulo Rogério Caovilla, the parish priest of São Pedro in Erechim, led a penitential celebration, while Father Clair Favreto, the parish priest of the São José Cathedral, conducted a blessing of food.

During the midday meal, relatives of Dorothea Farina shared accounts of her apparitions. Father Romário Barbosa Santana, a missionary and parish priest of Nossa Senhora da Salette in Erechim, led a period of adoration and blessing with the Blessed Sacrament. The pilgrimage concluded with a procession to the sanctuary and a final mass presided over by Alisson Zanetti, the parish priest of São José do Patrocínio in Coronel Freitas.
