Bp Marian Rojek celebrates 50th anniversary of Parafia Matki Bożej Różańcowej in Rzeszów

Bishop Marian Rojek joined the Our Lady of the Rosary parish community in Rzeszów on October 4, 2026, to celebrate the parish's 50th anniversary. The celebration combined the golden jubilee with the parish feast day and a canonical visitation.

Bishop Jan Wątroba, Bishop of Rzeszów, presided over the Mass, while Bishop Rojek delivered the homily. During his sermon, Bishop Rojek encouraged the faithful to hold onto the rosary and spoke about the historical difficulties faced by the community. He noted that expressing faith and building the church resulted in suffering, humiliation, and the loss of property or jobs.

The parish was officially established in 1976, though efforts to create a pastoral center in the Baranówka district of Rzeszów began in 1971. Parish priest Father Czesław Goraj welcomed the congregation, stating the jubilee serves as a time to show gratitude to the priests, parishioners, builders, and donors who built the community through their work and prayer.
