75 Years of Mission in Angola: Bishop Urges Catholic Sisters to Serve With Renewed Commitment

Bishop António Francisco Jaca urged the Sisters of Saint Catherine of Siena (CISCS) to strengthen their missionary work during a Mass on September 13 to mark 75 years of the congregation's service in Angola.

During the Jubilee opening Mass in the Diocese of Benguela, Bishop Jaca called on the sisters to continue their work through education, formation, pastoral accompaniment, and care for those in need. He thanked the sisters for their decades of dedication to local communities and the mission of the Church.

The bishop highlighted the congregation's specific contributions, including the training of future priests through the Centre for Philosophy, their work with pastoral commissions, and their role in preparing new religious sisters. He noted that the congregation has grown within Angola and expanded its presence to other countries.
