A century of shared mission across the globe

Pope Leo XIV has chosen the theme One in Christ, united in mission for World Mission Day, which celebrates its centenary on Sunday, October 18, 2026.

The theme highlights that mission is a collective effort of the entire Church rather than the work of individuals. In his message for the day, the Pope encouraged the Church to pursue its missionary journey with joy and zeal through the Holy Spirit. He noted that this mission requires reconciled communities and hearts united in Christ.
