A friend for now and forever

Brea Cannon shared that her family named their fourth child, born in July, Simon. After praying for a name, the couple chose Simon to honor Simon of Cyrene and Simon the Zealot, a traditional cousin of Jesus from the New Testament.

The family will celebrate the feast day of Saints Simon and Jude on October 28. Cannon noted that patron saints serve as heavenly intercessors and friends who pray to God on behalf of people, professions, or specific life situations. She also mentioned that her husband and she pray through the intercession of St. Gianna Molla, the patron saint of mothers and unborn children.
