A guide to Fulton Sheen’s September 24 beatification in St. Louis

Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen will be beatified on Sept. 24 in St. Louis, with a series of prayer events and Masses scheduled leading up to the ceremony. The beatification Mass will take place at the Dome at America’s Center, and tickets for the event remain available.

In Peoria, Illinois, where Sheen was ordained and where his remains are entombed, the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception is hosting a nine-day novena of evening Holy Hours from Sept. 15 to Sept. 23. These sessions occur at 7 p.m. CDT and feature reflections from Catholic leaders from the Diocese of Peoria and other areas. The diocese is livestreaming and archiving these prayers on its YouTube channel.

Additional activities include a family Holy Hour and cathedral tour on Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Peoria cathedral, featuring 45 minutes of Eucharistic adoration with Bishop Tylka. Most scheduled events surrounding the beatification will be livestreamed.
