Caritas diocesana di Roma, Cgil Roma e Lazio, and Cisl Roma Capitale e Rieti launched a permanent network to address inequality in Rome during a seminar on September 24. The meeting, held at the Campidoglio, aimed to establish a common front to combat social and economic disparities in the city.

Economist Salvatore Monni, a professor at Roma Tre University, presented data showing a gap between the average income in the Parioli neighborhood and that of residents in Tor Bella Monaca and Torre Angela. Monni reported that the city's employment rate is 65.8 percent, with only 15 percent of new hires receiving permanent contracts. He also noted that approximately 50 percent of new hires last only 24 hours.

The seminar began with a minute of silence for Andrea Moretti, a 22-year-old worker who died while working at the Colosseum on the night of September 22. During the event, Cgil Roma e Lazio secretary Natale Di Cola stated that human dignity must take precedence over profit and that the value of work needs to be restored to the center of society.
