A Sympathetic Understanding: Liturgical Renewal, Adaptation, and the Legacy of Worship

Monks from St. John’s Abbey, Collegeville, began an apostolate on the first Sunday of Advent in 1926 to encourage the faithful to participate more fully in the liturgical life of the Church.

According to Brother Stanley Rother Wagner OSB, the work sought to create a sympathetic understanding among the laity, clergy, and religious to support liturgical renewal and adaptation.
