Abbracciare la nuova liturgia… il falso argomento dell’obbedienza!

Bishop Jean-Marc Eychenne of Grenoble-Vienne has argued that using authority to force the faithful to adopt the liturgical reform is a sign of weakness among its defenders, according to a report by Messainlatino.it. In an editorial published in La Croix on August 24, the bishop suggested that liberalizing the liturgy could spread a virus of distrust.

Messainlatino.it notes that the bishop previously invited those attached to the traditional liturgy to undergo re-education so they might abandon their persistence and discover the heritage of the liturgical reform. The publication argues that traditional faithful use common sense by following traditional liturgy and catechism that shaped many Christian families in the past. The report claims these faithful are not being disobedient but are instead expressing a respectful conscientious objection.
