Diocese of Lugo develops accompaniment program for prisoners

The Diocese of Lugo provides support for incarcerated individuals and those reintegrating into society through its prison ministry and Cáritas Diocesana. This work begins within correctional facilities and extends to reentry processes at the Casa da Misericordia.

The director of the prison ministry has served as a chaplain at the Bonxe prison for nearly 20 years. This service recently received recognition from Instituciones Penitenciarias. Bishop Alfonso Carrasco of Lugo attended the ceremony to present the award.
