Aketo Primary School Receives Support for Classroom Construction After Storm Damage

Aketo Primary School has begun construction on a three-classroom block to replace structures destroyed by a storm in Apac District. The storm, which occurred about a month ago, destroyed the roofs of several classrooms and the head teacher’s office, leaving the school with insufficient space for its students.

Father Stanslas Atipopo, the parish administrator of Gomi Sub-Parish in Lira District, secured financial assistance from friends in Germany to fund the project. The Lira Diocese is implementing the construction.

Deputy Head Teacher Samson Olum said the delivery of construction materials provides relief to parents and learners because the government has not provided immediate support following the storm. Alex Ogota, the LC3 Chairperson of Ibuje Sub-County, confirmed that the donated materials have arrived at the school.
