Algarve: Novo bispo presidiu à assembleia de apresentação do programa pastoral 2026/2027

Bishop Vitorino Soares presided over a diocesan assembly at the Quarteira Parish to present the 2026/2027 pastoral program. The assembly, which focused on the theme "Persevering in Prayer," brought together approximately 200 leaders from the Diocese of Algarve on Saturday morning.

During his concluding remarks, Bishop Soares identified four key words to guide the diocese through the upcoming year: together, transform, encounter, and relationships. He stated that the upcoming pastoral work is a diocesan matter rather than one belonging to specific individuals, parishes, or regions.

The bishop, who took office one week ago, encouraged participants to rely on prayer to facilitate transformation. He also emphasized the importance of encounters, noting that Jesus always sought out meetings with others.
