Angra: Diocese lança Escola de Formação para ser «laboratório de pensamento, de discernimento e de esperança»

The Diocese of Angra has launched the Escola Diocesana de Formação to strengthen the training of laypeople and create a space for dialogue between faith, culture, and society. Bishop Armando Esteves Domingues opened the first academic year at the Hotel Palácio de Santa Catarina.

The bishop stated that the school responds to a need identified by diocesan participation groups to provide the People of God with deeper and continuous formation suited to modern challenges. He explained that the school aims to help people live through and interpret societal changes, such as digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

Bishop Domingues described the school as a way to follow the diocesan pastoral vision of crossing borders rather than remaining stationary. He noted that the project serves as a space for reflection and critical thinking to help the Church recognize new challenges through culture and dialogue.
