Annual Wisdom Day hosted in Vincennes for North Deanery
More than 125 people gathered at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Center in Vincennes on Sept. 28 for the 2026 North Deanery Wisdom Day. The annual event celebrates adults aged 55 and older in the Diocese of Evansville through prayer, speakers, food, and entertainment.
Pat Koch encouraged attendees to remain active in their faith and stay informed about community matters. Koch and her friend Donna founded the Vincennes version of Wisdom Day after attending a similar event in the Diocese of Owensboro.
Speakers for the gathering included Bishop Joseph M. Siegel, Father Tony Ernst, Diocesan Chancellor and COO Dean Happe, and Megan Knies, the diocesan director of marriage, family and life. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum also spoke, while retired Deacon Earl Ruppel served as master of ceremonies. The Diocese of Evansville Office of Marriage, Family and Life assists in coordinating the event.
