Apostolic Vicariate of San José del Amazonas holds 2nd Tantarina in Angoteros

The Apostolic Vicariate of San José del Amazonas held the second Tantarina from September 10 to 12 in Angoteros to strengthen the leadership and organization of Napuruna Kichwa communities in the Alto Napo region. Approximately 60 Christian leaders, women leaders, and animators from 16 communities participated in the gathering to share experiences and discuss their roles in community life, culture, spirituality, and territory defense.

Participants attended specialized training sessions based on their specific responsibilities. Community authorities, known as Apus, worked with ORKIWAN president Rafael Noteno to study communal administration, organization, and fundamental rights. Christian animators, or Kuyllur runakuna, focused on preparing Sunday celebrations to better integrate the Kichwa worldview and culture into their faith. Additionally, women leaders, or Warmi líder, met with Murui leader Rubiela Ríos to discuss leadership and organization for indigenous women.
