Bishop Dom Geraldo Maia presides over Mass in Araçuaí

Bishop Dom Geraldo Maia presided over a Mass at the Araçuaí Cathedral on the evening of September 21 to celebrate the 155th anniversary of the city's political emancipation. Priests Adilson and José Carlos concelebrated the liturgy.

The Diocese of Araçuaí noted that the city became the seat of a new diocese in 1913. That original territory included the areas now covered by the Diocese of Almenara and the Diocese of Teófilo Otoni, as well as the current lands belonging to the Diocese of Araçuaí.
