Archbishop Lori Homily: 75th Anniversary of Immaculate Heart of Mary School

Archbishop William E. Lori celebrated the 75th anniversary of Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Baynesville, Maryland, during a Mass on September 20, 2026.

In his homily, Archbishop Lori thanked the school community and highlighted the collaboration between pastor Father Jeff Dauses, principal Sue Surine, administrators, teachers, volunteers, the school board, and parents. He specifically recognized the Oblate Sisters of St. Francis de Sales for their role in the school.

The Archbishop noted the contributions of several sisters, including Sister Susan Louise Eder, Sister Frances Carol Eder, who teaches 5th grade religion and STEAM, and Sister Audrey Frances Moran, who teaches Spanish and 4th grade. Sister Ann Elizabeth Eder, the Provincial of the Oblates, was also in attendance.
