Archbishop Mario Delpini opens the Franciscan Jubilee in Lecco

Archbishop Mario Delpini opened the Franciscan Jubilee in Lecco at the San Francesco parish. The celebration included a prayer service featuring an icon of Saint Francis at the foot of the altar, which moved through five stages from the saint's agony to his death.

The jubilee includes various cultural events, musical performances, films, and testimonies running until November 28. Archbishop Delpini told the gathered faithful that the jubilee serves as an opportunity to enter the life and witness of Saint Francis to better understand the life of Jesus. He suggested that following the saint requires recognizing the essentials of the Gospel, embracing poverty, and reflecting on death without fear.

The event was attended by priest Vitale Maninetti, Lecco provost and dean Bortolo Uberti, local friars, and priests from nearby pastoral communities.
