Archbishop of Nampula to Catholic university graduates: “Science without conscience is simply the ruin of the soul”

Archbishop Inácio Saure urged graduates of the Catholic University of Mozambique to use their education for the common good during a graduation ceremony in Nampula.

During his homily, Saure, who serves as the president of the Episcopal Conference of Mozambique, addressed the challenge of youth unemployment. He noted that many educated citizens in Mozambique struggle to find work that matches their skills despite years of study. He warned the graduates that they might join this group of qualified people unable to find suitable employment.

Saure told the students that education is more than a way to get a job and should instead be viewed as a responsibility to society. He encouraged the graduates to use their knowledge with awareness and responsibility, even when facing difficulties in the workforce.
