Archbishop Smith calls faithful to pray for renewal

Archbishop Smith has released a prayer card to help the faithful in the Archdiocese of Vancouver pray for the ongoing renewal process launched last Pentecost. The cards began arriving in parishes during September.

The prayer card features a prayer for renewal written by Archbishop Smith on one side and a new image on the other. The image depicts a crucifix over mountains and rivers to represent the local landscape. According to the Archdiocese, the crucifix signifies that renewal is the work of the Lord, while the flowing rivers symbolize a current of grace already moving through the region. The card also includes the passage from the Book of Revelation, "Behold, I make all things new," to guide the process.

The Archbishop intends for the cards to encourage people to pray together frequently to discern how the Holy Spirit is working within the Archdiocese.
