Archbishop’s Weekly Word: Love without distinction

Archbishop Hebda celebrated the annual Archdiocesan Solidarity Mass at the Cathedral of St. Paul to mark the World Day of Migrants and Refugees. The liturgy included music, readings, and cultural performances in various languages.

The Archbishop noted that the celebration held particular meaning following the tensions experienced by community members during Operation Metro Surge last winter. Earlier that day, he attended a gathering organized by Unidos at St. Thomas More, where parishioners shared testimonies regarding how those events impacted their families and parishes. The gathering also included a presentation on the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and the dignity of human life.

Hebda also attended the 150th anniversary celebration of Assumption in Richfield on Saturday. He noted the historical shift in the community's language, observing that while the parish's founding members spoke German, the current community uses Spanish extensively in the church and during festivals.
