Archdiocese of Lima concludes IV Biblical Formation Week 2026

The Archdiocese of Lima concluded its IV Biblical Formation Week on September 25, 2026. Organized by the Diocesan Office of Catholic Education (ODEC), the event focused on the Gospel of John as a way to encounter Christ, communion, and mission.

The sessions took place from September 23 to 25 at the Instituto Superior de Estudios Teológicos (ISET) Juan XXIII. Participants included teachers, administrators, and pastoral workers from ODEC and AIEC Lima.

During the opening session, Auxiliary Bishop Juan José Salaverry told attendees that studying the Gospel of John allows for a deeper encounter with Jesus and provides a source of transformation for Christian life. Father Guillermo Acero, rector of the Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo Seminary, also spoke to the group, describing the literary richness and complexity of the text and encouraging participants to move beyond a superficial reading of the Gospel.
